Here we go: Murfreesboro mega-mosque under investigation over burial

An update on this story. The nature of the interaction with mosque officials is entirely too typical: When approached about specifics, respond with lofty generalities; repeat as necessary, and people who still won’t back down are automatically Islamophobes, naturally. Rutherford County’s Sheriff’s Office will investigate questions regarding a burial at the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro’s new site on Veals Road.

Maj. Chuck Thomas told The Daily News Journal on Thursday that the office will "look into some concerns that were brought to our attention."

A group of about two dozen people requested an investigation in a letter and petition presented to Sheriff Truman Jones earlier this week.

"Who is it that’s buried here?" group spokesperson Laurie Cardoza-Moore said in a press conference Thursday. "Is it a child? Is it an adult? Is it male or female? There are environmental issues. Was there a casket used?"

The group is also concerned about the burial permit that was issued by the Rutherford County Planning Department.

Cardoza-Moore said the permit was approved for one person to be buried on the site, notarized and dated May 18. But, the group claims the body was buried before that permit was even approved.

"It’s our understanding the burial took place on the 17th," said Cardoza-Moore.

Murfreesboro Police have said they gave a funeral escort to the site on May 19, the day after the permit was issued.

Thomas said the sheriff’s office will look into the matter.

"We will make sure that the death certificate was obtained and … that all the laws and rules were followed," Thomas said.

The leader of the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro, Imam Ossama Bahloul, didn’t talk to a WSMV reporter on camera about the issue, but reacted by saying: "We want to be a good neighbor and want to reside in peace."

Body dumps don’t build good neighborly relations.

He went on to say, "We wish everyone in the city the very best."

That’s swell, but again, how ’bout that burial issue?

Islamic leaders had applied for a conditional use permit for a full cemetery on site, but later withdrew that request….

So is it just kind of a cemetery? Half a cemetery? A hemi-demi-semi-cemetery?

U.S. State Dept Sends CAIR Official To Mali

Local media is reporting that the executive director of Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) – Michigan has traveled to the African nation of Mali on a program underwritten by the US State Department. According to an interview with Dawud Walid:

Dawud Walid, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations — Michigan, wrapped up his second visit to the African nation of Mali on Friday. He also serves as assistant imam at Masjid Wali Muhammad in Detroit and board trustee for the Metropolitan Detroit Interfaith Workers’ Rights Committee.

This is your second trip to Mali? What program are you participating in there?

This is my second time participating in a delegation organized by Michigan State University, which aims to build religious and cultural ties between American religious and civic leaders with Malian counterparts. The program is underwritten by the U.S. State Department. On Saturday (July 17), Islamic studies professor Achmat Salie from Oakland University and I spoke at the third annual Malian Association for Peace and Tolerance Conference in the capital of Bamako. There were representatives from a number of North and West African countries … from the Islamic, Catholic and Evangelical faith groups. Speakers and attendees came from countries such as Nigeria, Mauritania and Senegal.

What is the purpose of the program?

At the conference, I spoke about the state of interfaith cooperation in America. I stated that Muslims in America have many challenges from Islamophobia to unjust government policies that profile us. However, we have interfaith partners that stand in solidarity for fairness and justice with Muslims and that this is an American tradition. I also mentioned the shooting of Imam Luqman and discussed the case with some leaders.

What do the people of Mali know about Detroit?

People in Mali know little about Detroit, or that there are so many Muslims in America in general. People were pleasantly surprised at the amount of Muslims in Detroit and how the community is so diverse.

What other countries have you traveled to?

I’ve traveled to 15 different countries, including United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Israel, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. Malians by far are the most hospitable nation of people that I’ve ever encountered even though they are (one) of the poorest on Earth. Average household income is about $275 per year. [

Investigative research posted on GMBDR had determined that CAIR had it origins in the U.S. Hamas infrastructure and CAIR and it leaders have a long history of defending almost all individuals accused of terrorism by the US. government, frequently calling such prosecutions a “war on Islam.”

Virginia: Judge tells jail to make considerations for Somali Muslim pirates during Ramadan

Like the NYPD, more submission to sharia for Muslims during the month of jihad – and these Muslims aren’t even Americans AND they tried to hijack U.S. Navy ships!

New details about the case against the group of Somali men suspected of piracy.

The men appeared at the Norfolk Federal Courthouse today where new charges were brought against them.

The original charges against the men were included piracy and plundering. However, the defense attorney says that is not what happened.

The argument is that the men did not attempt to seize the Navy vessels. Since the ships were not seized for profit, a piracy charge is false.

Today, the United States Attorney’s Office added additional charges to reflect the actual attacks on the USS Nicholas and USS Ashland.

The men, who range in age from 18-32, appeared in two groups. One group, dressed in olive-colored jumpsuits, were composed of those accused of attacks on the USS Nicholas and the other group, dressed in orange jumpsuits, were composed of the remaining men accused of attacks on the USS Ashland.

All of the men pleaded not guilty.

The men spoke through an interpreter and many of them expressed that they had done nothing wrong. One man crossed his arms and declared himself ready for justice.

Additionally, all of the men complained of their treatment where they are being held in the Western Tidewater Regional Jail.

The judge will be investigating this and has asked the jail to make a consideration for the men, who are all Muslim, due to the approaching celebration of Ramadan.

The trials for the accused men are set for October and November.

NEW YORK — The New York Police Department said Wednesday it would tighten security around mosques and Muslim centers in the city during the upcoming Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

Police patrols will be beefed up at all existing religious centers and sites of future ones from August 11 to September 9, the department said in a statement, referring to controversial plans to build a mosque near Ground Zero.

“During Ramadan, the Department will increase foot posts around mosques, assign patrol cars to houses of worship and select areas, and deploy additional plainclothes anti-crime units to deter burglaries,” the NYPD said.

The department’s Hate Crimes Task Force “also will continue regular hate-crime awareness training throughout the city… (and) will visit mosques and sites where future mosques are proposed.”

A New York community board in May backed plans for an Islamic cultural center and mosque two blocks from Ground Zero, where Islamist hijackers crashed two airliners into the Twin Towers, killing almost 3,000 people on September 11, 2001.

Why? Because terror-linked, unindicted co-conspirator CAIR is embedded in the NYPD.

Philly: Muslims convicted of murder in officer’s death

PHILADELPHIA — Two men were convicted of first-degree murder Wednesday in the ambush death of a police officer after a bank robbery, even though neither defendant pulled the trigger.

Levon Warner, 41, and Eric Floyd, 35, each face the possibility of the death penalty after being convicted on all counts Wednesday in the May 3, 2008, shooting death of Sgt. Stephen Liczbinski. The man who shot Liczbinski died that day in a shootout with police.

Floyd watched the verdict from a closed-circuit TV in a courthouse holding cell, where he spent most of the two-month trial after being banished for punching his lawyer.

Sergeant Stephen Liczbinski was shot and killed while responding to a bank robbery call at approximately 11:30 am.

Three men dressed in female Muslim garb had robbed a Bank of America on Aramingo Avenue. Sergeant Liczbinski encountered the suspects on East Schiller Street and stopped their car. As he exited his patrol car, a suspect opened fire with an SKS rifle, striking him several times.

Several citizens who witnessed the incident rushed to assist the officer, wrapping his wounds in an effort to stop the bleeding. Sergeant Liczbinski told them tell my wife and kids I love them before he fell into unconsciousness. Another officer and a citizen carried him into a patrol car and he was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his wounds.

The suspects continued their escape, but crashed their vehicle. The suspects then stole another vehicle and fled again. When the vehicle was stopped, one suspect was shot and killed by K-9 officers and two suspects eluded capture. Both suspects who fled were eventually apprehended and charged with murder.

News stories barely report these killers were dressed as Muslim women during the robbery, and don’t even mention they were Muslims. Why not? Where is CAIR?

Arizona: Muslim father to be tried for ‘honor killing’ daughter

And just like under Islamic sharia law the killer won’t face the death penalty thanks to dhimmi prosecutors.

An Iraqi immigrant living in Arizona accused of the “honor killing” of his daughter will stand trial later this year, authorities said.

Faleh Almaleki of Glendale, Ariz., is suspected of running down his daughter, 20-year-old Noor Almaleki, for being “too Westernized,” The Arizona Republic reported Tuesday.

Almaleki was reportedly angry the daughter had left her Iraqi husband, a cousin in an arranged marriage, and returned to the United States, the newspaper said.

Noor Almaleki died of injuries after her father allegedly ran her over and the mother of her boyfriend with his Jeep Cherokee in a Peoria, Ariz., parking lot, prosecutors said.

The other woman survived.

Prosecutors said Almaleki admitted killing his daughter because she disgraced the family by not following traditional Iraqi or Muslim values.

He will be tried on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated assault and two counts of leaving the scene of a serious accident, the Republic reported.
